As my followers know, I am not a technical guy, and my reviews don’t have this profile.
As a pro photographer I use the gear, use a lot. I shoot weddings, but also fashion, runways, portraits, editorial and street.
When I talk about a lens or body I give my personal feelings about it, the usability, my perceptions and how is the final results printed on a photographic paper.
This is what I did with this lens, the XF16-55mm f/2.8 WR. An equivalent of a 24-84mm on full frame.
Many mirrorless users ask me about the size and weight of this lens.
Yes, for a mirrorless standard it is big and heavy, with 23.10 oz (655 g). But if you compare to a Canon 24-70 ll f/2.8 (28.40 oz or 805 g), the Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 VR (2.35 lb or 1070 g) and the Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 (1.98 lb or 900 g), you will see the difference.
Also the price is an important thing to take note, specially if you compare to the equivalent lenses.
When I think about this lens, after some months of using, I think about versatility.
I prefer to use my primes, but if I need to take just one camera, and have it on hands, ready for action, I take this.
The autofocus is fast, I can’t complain at all, never lost an image because of it.
Very few distortion and and good bokeh at 55mm. The fact of being 55mm (full frame equivalent to a 84mm) the closest angle of this lens is a good advantage for the use on portraits.
The first wedding I shot with it I really got worried about the results of a high ISO and the f/2.8 aperture, but at the end the lens quality compensate the lack of faster aperture. My prints were great.
The image quality is far better than the 18-55 f/2.8-4, its not as good as a prime, but you can trust for a pro work.
You can see in my images the rendition of colors, its sharp and produce beautiful colors in combination with the X-Trans sensor.
The negative point is the lack of an OIS, Fujifilm told that they didn’t put it because it would increase size and weight.
Usually I work with 2 bodies and 2 lenses, carried by my Blackhold Straps, but for photographers who prefer the versatility of a zoom in just one body, you can save weight and carry a all in one lens for most of the works.
I always recommend to wedding photographers that they should use more sources of light, as speedlights with radios or LED lights, I believe in the power of light to give you a beautiful print. If you work this way, I highly recommend the 16-55mm f/2.8, the maximum aperture of f/2.8 will never be a problem.

Isto é o que eu fiz com esta lente, o XF16-55mm f/2.8 WR. Equivalente a uma 24-84mm em full frame.
Muitos usuários mirrorless me perguntam: Ela não é grande e pesada demais?
Sim, para um padrão mirrorless é grande e pesado, com 655 g. Mas se você comparar com uma Canon 24-70 ll f/2.8 que pesa 805 g, à Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 VR que pesa 1,070 g e à Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 (£ 1,98 ou 900 g), você vai ver uma bela diferença.
Também o preço é um ponto importante, ela custa nos EUA U$1199.00, enquanto a 24-70 f/2.8 L da Canon custa U$1799.00, e a Nikon 27-70 f/2.8 sem VR custa U$1886.00. Uma bela diferença.
Hoje, após meses de uso, quando penso sobre essa lente, penso em versatilidade.
Pessoalmente prefiro usar lentes fixas, mas se eu precisar levar apenas uma câmera, e tê-la em mãos, pronta para a ação, eu levo a 16-55mm..
O autofoco é rápido. Não posso reclamar. Nunca perdi uma imagem por causa disso.
Muito pouca distorção e bom bokeh à 55mm. O fato de ser 55 milímetros (full frame equivalente a uma 84 milímetros) o ângulo mais fechado desta lente é uma boa vantagem para o uso em retratos.
O primeiro casamento eu fotografei com essa lente, por estar acostumado com as prime, me deixou um pouco preocupado pelo fato de ter de elevar mais o ISO usando a abertura máxima em f/2.8, mas no final a qualidade da lente compensou plenamente a falta de abertura mais rápida. Minhas impressões no papel ficaram excelentes.
A qualidade da imagem é muito melhor do que a 18-55 f/2.8-4, senti um resultado muito semelhante a uma lente fixa.

O ponto mais negativo é a falta de um OIS, A Fujifilm alegou na época do lançamento que não colocou o estabilizador pois prejudicaria a qualidade ótica e aumentaria o peso. Entendo mas mesmo assim sei que o estabilizador em um evento faria toda diferença.
Normalmente eu trabalho com 2 corpos e 2 lentes, realizadas pelos minhas alças Blackhold, mas para os fotógrafos que preferem a versatilidade de um zoom em apenas um corpo, você pode economizar peso e levar uma lente que possui range suficiente para suprir grande parte de suas necessidades.
Eu sempre digo aos fotógrafos de casamento que eles deveriam usar mais fontes de luz, como flashes com rádios ou luzes LED, acredito no poder da luz para alcançar uma bela impressão. Se você trabalha desta forma, eu recomendo o 16-55mm f / 2.8, a abertura máxima de f 2.8 nunca será um problema.
